Sights installation

How easy/difficult is it to install the Trijicon sights? What are some problems to look out for?

Depending on your pistol, they can be a real bear or easy. The OEM sights (combat) are, in most cases, very tight and difficult to move (although some will tell you that their's came off easily). The replacement sights (Trijicon or other optical sights) are fairly fragile and won't take a lot of pounding.

Then there's the problem of sight alignment. Once you get them on, you have to adjust them (usually at the range, unless you have a pistol bore sighter). This can take a little doing - depending on how tight the replacement sights are on the slide. Again, the replacement sights aren't going to take a lot of force before you break the tubes.

Unless you have an H&K sight replacement tool (usually about $150), you might want to check out AJames at www.xd-hs2000.com

He does this for $15 (return shipping included) and laser aligns your slide to the sights. All you have to send him is the slide and replacement sights - or order the sights from him and he'll install them free.

Up to you - I had mine done there and I have no regrets - fast shipping and great work.

on the tfo's you have to be careful not to but the tritium packs in the sights. ie: beating to hard with a steel punch.
