Good gunbelts support the weight of holstered weapons and accessories, making it more comfortable and easier to conceal.
Typically two pieces of leather the same thickness are laminated (glued) together and then stitched, sometimes a polymer reinforcement is inserted between the layers of leather to add more stiffness. Once you wear a good gunbelt the difference is very noticeable. Prices range from $50-$150 for belts, mine start at $50 for 1 1/2 thickness belts and $65 for double thickness. For IWB a good sturdy leather belt will work but for those that have a large auto and accessories OWB a good gunbelt is a must. But I am biased.............

I bought a good belt from thebeltman.com and am happy as a clam.
Yes it was some financial outlay, but comfort, security, and concealment have all been vastly improved. My last belt lasted since I was a kid, so I see this as a long-term investment. - Never skimp on tires, brakes, ammo, or belts. -

Ordered a Rafters Sharkskin belt today. Lets see how it compares to the Tucker gun belt I have. Should be here in about 3 weeks. Will let everyone know.

As a previous XXL guy, I prefer re-inforced Instructors belts:
Galco Re-inforced Instructors belt: http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterP3.asp...&CatalogID=254 or Blackhawk CQB Instructors belt: http://www.blackhawk.com/product_det...uct_id=3121&d= Both of these come in XXL sizes. I have the Galco and will be ordering another in OD (They also come in tan and black in XL).

I picked up a Don Hume for $49 shipped. Black Double Thickness Leather Lined with a Nickel Buckle.
http://gunnersalley.com/product/BELT109L25 I guess it doesn't matter what belt you have as long as It's right for you. Everyone has a different brand.

Been wearing Blackhawk's Carbon belt, which I've liked alot because I can dress up or dress down. Holds both IWB and OWB holsters with my XDs just fine.

why pay over $20 for a good belt
the cabelas belt is very comfortable adjust easy does not slip nice and strong and not too stiff i carry a wilderness slider holster and a iwb blabe tech uch and they both hold secure great price for a great belt. the only problem is that the belt is on back order but it is worth the wait.
