Can I use the same Blade-tec Kydex hoster for an xd-9 and xd-40? Are the slide dimensions the same? Thank you.

You shouls be able to they are the same frame. If you order a crossbreed you only get asked if its and XD not if it is 9mm, .40 or .357. I would think the .45 is slightly bigger however.

Yes, If you have a holster for the XD, it will fit all XDs of the same size (XDSC, Service, Tactical). I am not aware of a holster for a XD40 as an example, that won't also fit the XD45ACP.

Anyone aware of one?

My Comptac belt holster doesn't seem to want work with my XD40 the 9 slides in and out no problem, All of the other holsters I have both guns work equally.

You could go with the Blackhawk CQC holster - designed for all XDs in tactical and service. Not sure if it will fit the subcompact.

comp tac asked me if I had a 40 or a 9. They also ask if you have a service or a tactical. I got the tactical model and it works great for both service and tactical.

Fobus makes a holster that will fit both weapons perfectly.

The fit will be the same for the XD 9 and XD 40, as they are the same frame size.

With respect to the other XD models fitting, that fit may be affected by the style of the holster, and how tightly the holster is molded to the gun. For example, the XD .45ACP is longer than the other XD service models, so if you have a thumb break/retention strap on the holster, what fits one will not fit the other. The XD .45ACP Tactical is larger in some areas than the other Tacticals.

Why not? Other than the length of the slide and grip, they are dimensionally the same?

If you have a holster for the XD Service model, the XDSC should also fit that holster.
