True. Holster with thumbstraps can be trouble, however, the ones made of leather will stretch enough to work with no problem. The frames are close in size.

I don't know. I have to loosen the tension screw on my kydex holster a bit to accommodate the subs. Even my crossbreed I ordered for my service is a little tight on the subs; the service slides in and out with no problem.
Edit: Maybe the service, being stainless, slides in and out of holsters better than my black subbies. I'm not sure.
