Question Will this sight tool work for XD's???

I was wondering if this will work to install sights on XD's for front and rear sights?? If not what would work? I'm looking for a sight pusher to install TFO's on my XD 9 & 45. I do not want to use traditional method of installing and adjusting sights with hammers and punches. I know they make a universal tool but its $400.
Thanks

i doubt it'll work.

I think you need to get the one specifically for the Sig classic pistols. if you intend to remove the factory sights, you'll have to modify the pusher tool.
if you plan to knock the factory's out, and install, say, Trijicon night sights, then you can use the tool un-modified to put the new sights in.

stock XD sights are just too wide for the part that grabs the sights.

I have the MGW Glock tool and not it does not fit the XD's height. The XD slide it too tall and the tool's pusher drags on the slide. The SIG tool works very well for both the front and the rear. You must widen the rear pusher notch first by about 1/16 first. I used a file on mine and it works well for the rear sight now. Also the MGW company is coming out with specific tools for dovetailed front sights as well as an XD specific sight pusher. Also I have the MGW 1911, SIG, as well as the factory SIG pusher. I love all these tools and whenever they decide to make more tools I am going to get those too.

dtek,

Check out the P500 Universal Sighttool at Brownells for $130. I've talked to Brownells and the makers about this tool for removal and install of Sig sights.

Brownells can give you their number (I've lost it). I not sure of the name of the company J&P Tool or something like that. I had one of their early sight pushers for Glock and needed a replacement part, they sent more parts than I needed free. Good customer service.

I've got one on my Christmas list this year, hope this helps.
