i'm looking at the Warren Tactical rear sight. it fits a SIG rear cut and matches their #8 rear sight. i want to find a front tritium sight to pair with this rear that will give proper height for an XD 40 service model.

any input appriciated!

You can use a Dawson fiber front with the SIG rear on the XD, however, the Dawson Tritium front will be too tall. I believe you need a front sight that is .160" tall for the SIG#8 rear.

anyone know dovetail dimensions on the front dovetail? or a place i can find a SIG sight reference chart? few searches of the forum came up with no specs telling exactly what the dovetail measurements are.

Actually, I just hung up the phone with Scott Warren and we discussed this very matter during our conversation. To use his SIG#8 rear on the XD, you will need to pair it with a Dawson #6 Front (021-100). The width of the Dawson front, which is a fiber front, is .110" wide.

I don't know anything about the dovetail dimension, sorry.
