I had Trijicons installed on my XD40 service pistol. Worst mistake I ever made with a pistol. I wish I had kept the OEM combat sights.

The pistol shot more accuratly with the OEM sights. The install was done by AJames and this is not to indicate that it was any fault of his. I bought the sights from a different vendor, who billed them as XD 4" Trijicon sights. They were awful! I believe the rear sights were too high for the XD, causing the POI to be low/left from anything beyond 10 yrds.

If you're going to change the sights, a word of caution. I should have sent the whole gun back to SA and had them install the sights that were appropriate to my pistol, rather than buying the sights from one vendor and having another put them on. Not all sights are the same - and not every gun will be accurate with the same sight set.

I know others may not have had this experience - but, if I had to do it again, I would have saved the $$$$'s and left the sights the way they originally came.
