Holsters that hold close to body?

I currently carry my XD SC in a Don Hume 721 leather holster.

The problem is this holster does not do a great job of holding the gun close to the body. The belt slots on the holster are too high and make my belt go in a zig zag pattern around the gun, then into the slots... keeping the holster farther away from my body and looser than I like.

What is a good holster that will hold the gun very close to my body? I prefer leather outside the waistband holsters.

Thanks in advance.

Tucker's stuff does a great job of doing that. Plus, Rob is a forum regular (Sponsor?)

Thumbs up

Crossbreed supertuck. Case closed. Not a better holster out there for the money. And Mark is also a forum sponser.

Any good pancake style holster should pull the gun tight to the body. I use a Galco Concealable. You can also try threading your belt through the loops in a manner that puts the pistol between the belt and your body, provided you have a couple extra inches of belt to work with.

I actually have one of these sitting in my safe. A friend gave it to me.

I should work with it a little more. What I really need is another clip on it.

Case reopened. If you want a leather holster at a great price you might take a look at the Ugly Bald Guy holsters. The people that have them seem to like them a lot so I ordered one. I can post pics and let you know what I think when I get it, but it looks pretty much what I'm looking for at a better than I thought price. He's really new, an ex jarhead (don't hold that against him) and gaining popularity, so if I were to guess it would be that the prices will go up at some point since they are so low now.

Here he is in april in the early learning stages

I don't know the guy and you can see my post at combatcarry where I said I just ordered, but I'm really impressed with how he's starting out. It's REALLY hard to beat the price also on an hand made all leather holster...at least for now.

I have a Kramer Belt Scabbard and a Hume 711 Open Top.

The Kramer holds the gun in a lot tighter to the body then the Hume. The Kramer also holds the gun more securely then the Hume.

The Kramer is almost 2 times the cost of the Hume but its worth it.

At K&D Holsters, I offer a couple of different styles of OWB holsters. The Eagle Defender is the most popular choice. Here's a few pics showing it being worn and how it performs. The gun carried is a SIG 226 with CT grips:

Good luck with your search.

Have you tried running your belt so that it is on the outside of the holster. That would bring it in a little closer.

I carry an XD 4" in a Galco Silouhette OWB holster. It pulls in tight, and has a retention strap also. Probably not the best, but it ranks up there with them.
