The cheap Hume one that Scott has is tight against the body and well priced.

That Hume you just posted is a really nice looking piece, and even better at that price. My Galco was just a few dollars more, but appears to be about the same makeup.

Oh well, should have looked around a little more before I bought, but I am happy with the quality.

Just got this new High Noon Slide Guard last week. So far, It works very well with the XD45 Service. Oh, and all that stuff about how important a real gunbelt is, well it is!

Very important! A high quality gunbelt is an important part of your carry system. A weak belt will make the best holster print.

Ill second the importance of a good gun belt. For OWB carry even with a moderately heavy gun...its critical.
As far as running the belt Over the OUTSIDE of the holster...It really wont hold it closer to the body than using the loops/belt like its designed to on a GOOD pancake. It will hold it as close to the body as possible....
All pancakes are designed to run the belt behind the holster and through a belt loop on your pants and then finally through the holster again....this gives the holster a much more stable platform for carrying the weight of the gun. It also keeps the holster in place when the weapon is drawn from the holster.

Look for a company you like and just keep in mind....a body shield is a nice thing to have on a pancake and loops that are close to the gun on both sides will keep it in place and tight to the body.

The K&D pancake is a good choice...........

Shoot well...and god bless

I wear an Mach2 Tactical IWH with a Wilderness belt. I wear at about 2:30 and it is invisible and comfortable 24/7.

A good holster is good but the proper belt is crucial especialy if you wear OWH. I have tested my gear in IDPA which quickly shows you what works and what will not. You don't really want to fimd out that your set up is worthless at the worst of times.

Detachment Charlie……I’ve been thinking about purchasing the exact same holster. In a one to five what would you say? Is it worth the price and wait? Also I read you saying gun belt being important, did you buy the Rock Steady Belt? If so can you say something about it?

Thanks.

Thumbs up

My High Noon Slide Guard has performed well. It does what it's supposed to do, hold a stout auto close o the body for concealment and kep my seat from the Florida heat off my XD. I was a wait for this..a long wait, almost 5 months. I like it. My belt is an Aker 1-1/2" with a plastic reenforcement sandwiched between two pieces of nice, well-finished leather. It's got a quality buckle abd was only about $40, with a two week wait from CopQuest. Not a bad deal at all.

I have to add my vote for an Ugly Bald Guy holster. I just ordered my third from Nate and and a custom gunbelt to go with it. Can't beat the price/quality ratio with these.
