Promag extended mag for xd9 limited legal?
I know that Promag may not have the best reputation... but I just found that they have a 20 round mag out now for the xd, looks sorta like the glock 22 round mags with the extra polymer part on the bottom to make it a little longer... my question is, has anybody seen these, and know if theyre limited division legal? 140mm I think...

I haven't seen one measured, but the 20 round in 9mm should be close enough to 140mm to slide by. If you choose to go that direction, my suggestion would be to prove out the reliability at the range before using it in a match - it doesn't take much of a hiccup to ruin your day in Limited, particularly if you are shooting Minor.

I would check out the 16 rounds with basepads to get 20.

16 round XD factory mags will hold 19-20 with extra capacity base pads. Check out this http://www.arredondoaccessories.com/...l2540wnvhs&GID=
They would be more reliable than PROMAG (which are low quality) I'll get some Tuesday, but I talked with Ralph on Friday and he said the guys that are using them are getting 20 in reliably. |

They Shoot Fine..
While I agree that ProMag and CrapOla are often heard in the same sentence, I have several of the 20rd mags and they function fine. I also have the Pearce 92F extended base pads on some of the stock mags that get them up to 18.
As to length, here is a pic that I have posted before.

Um, your mag extension doesn't do as much on a 15 round mag as a 16...
The dimples limit the rounds on the 15's. You cut the dimples out and you will get more rounds. Be careful insterting the Pearce modified mags, they can be insterted too far and break of the extractor. If you use ProMag keep an eye on the dimensions as the feedlips are very soft. |

Get the Arrendondo basepads. You will be just fine. I got to see Rdub's in person today. Very cool, and very well made! 20 rounds and still a hair under 140mm.
