Sent to Springer Precision
Well, after pestering Scott for quite some time over the course of the summer, and having spent a good bit of time trying to decide between CC and Springer Precision, I finally sent my XD9 away this morning for one of Scotts 4# trigger jobs.
The package should arrive tommorrow, and Im hoping to have it back by the end of the week (based upon other members quotes of incredibly fast turnaround times.) Ill be sure to share my thoughts as soon as I get it back! |

I had the same work done for both of my XDs. I'm debating whether I should send my new Kimber in for work, but it's already nice out of the box.
Yeah, Scott's pretty damn fast. The XD becomes even better afterwards. |

Thought I would update this thread with some thoughts. Although I havent yet fired it with the new 4# trigger job, the dry-firing I have done has been pretty enjoyable.
When I sent it in, I was expecting a WORLD of difference, as everyone seems to say the trigger job is just about heaven on an XD. Well, initially after receiving it I thought, "Oh, this is nice...but not life-altering". The pull requires slightly less effort (2# less), and is slightly smoother..but the most noticeable part is the reduction in pre-travel and over-travel. One thing that is noticeably different, is there is less indication of when the trigger will fire the gun...its probably a result of the smoother action and reduction in pre-travel, but the point of engagement is less clear...more of a gray area now as opposed to the factory black and white. I would certainly recommend Scott and his services to other forum members, but would suggest you really get to know your XD prior to sending it in for work. I had ~1k rounds through mine before I sent it off, and I would say that should be the bare minimum, as to truly appreciate Scott's work, you need to have a feel for where the stock XD falls short. |

The thing live fire will bring out is the reset
The lighter triggers always get bigger smiles, but the 4# is very functional. My girlfriend uses a 4lb trigger and it is better than the lighter triggers for her. |
