Cant Question...

I was just wondering... Are there certain advantages, and disadvantages of useing different cants, or is it pretty much a personal preference thing?? I've been useing a butt forward cant on my uncle mikes kydex holster, and was just wondering if it was a preference thing...

It's always about personal preference. That being said, a forward cant usually will conceal the grip better.

There are. What are you wanting to do? Think about what and then weight the pros and cons of different angles.

OK, the applications are totally different, so different can't would be needed unless you want to shoot USPSA the way you carry.

For USPSA you generally want the grip angle to be parralel with the belt, so when you grab it all your fingers contact the grip at the same time. This is fast and secure. For CCW, well that depends mostly on what is comfortable for you and your body type.

You might want two different holsters. The Bladetech DOH is a great holster for USPSA, not so much for carry. Their are tons of great holsters for carry, that aren't very good for USPSA.

The holster I have now is an Uncle Mikes Kydex adjustable Paddle Holster. The one made for the xd 4". Once I get my CCW permit I'm thinking about getting a bladetech UCH IWB holster...
