What is the difference between springfield XML and the Inisght Tech X2?
On Springfield's website, it says 50 lumens for the XML and
Insight states 40 for the X2. I thought they were the same w/ different labels. |

I bought the XML from Springfield and wanted a backup bulb Springfield is asking $24.95+ Shipping for the bulb. I called Insight and they said their X2 was the same light and they made it for Springfield. Insight won't sell a bulb to anyone they ask you to buy from you'r dealer. This did not give me a good feeling about both Springfield or Insight. So I just placed the XML in a drawer and ordered a Surefire X200B. I can always depend on Surefire and there is no mis-marking or a gray area of the light output of any of their lights. As to the question of the lumen output of the X2 or XML who really knows

Thanks. That answers my question
I assume you are not using the surefire on a SC model, correct? $24.95 seems a bit high for the bulb. Having an LED version would be real nice. As far as the lumen ratings go... I haven't seen a single 123A cell light that hits 50 lumens (and runs reasonably long). It might.. for a few seconds and drop quite a bit. If you look at the chart here:http://www.flashlightreviews.com/rev...urefire_g2.htm You can see the runtime/brightness for a well made TWO 123A cell light. |

Well the XML does not use a 123A Battery it uses a single CR2 Battery.
This is another reasion I like the Surefire systems they use the 123A Battery. |

xml = pos. there are better lights out there for the same price, and even better ones for about $30 more. of course you could always drop $200 on the surefire x2000
