Pearce Grips!

Well I just received my order from ajames.. Very quick shipping.. I am very pleased with the service.. I just have a question about the Pearce Grips.. I installed them tonight and tried them out.. Does anyone else have these installed on their service XD's? I noticed that it is really hard to insert the mag into the pistol.. I had to slam it very very hard to get it to stay in the pistol. Then another thing is that when I go to eject the mag I have to push on the mag release button extremely hard, sometimes I have to used 2 fingers to try and depress the button. Does anyone else have this problem...

So far I am very displeased with the Pearce Grips!! NOTHING AGAINST AJAMES AND HIS BUSINESS, NOT AT ALL. But the company that makes the grips.. maybe I just had a bad batch or something...

Please let me know if anyone else is having this problem..

Ajames.. I love the hogue grip, very nice.

Also is there any special instructions on the best way to use the laquer stik. I tried it todayand it went into the inlays very well. But when I went to wipe off the excess all of the inlay also came out.. Am i doing it right? LOL

Thanks

You should only be displeased with your lack of knowledge of your weapon.

The one that OldSchool sent me to do a tutorial for had this same problem. I think we decided that Pearce must have released a bad batch or something.

I think ajames had it right when he said to boil the Pierce grips in water before you installed them.

Actually Pearce grips has heard of the problem with using the grips in full sized pistols. They redid the mold and have alived the problem. This redesign is so new that it was shot show new. They told me that if individuals had problems with the full sized pistol and the pg-xd that they could call pearce up and they will replace them with the fresh off the line tweeked grip for free, with out having to go or wait for your dealer to get them. I appologize about the non fit with the full sized pistol but I have been talking with the pearce people and they stand behind their product but also want happy users as do I.

mwatson69

please go to the Pearce website and send them an e-mail or give them a call and they will replace the grips.

About the inlay here is how I did it on my mags and pistol. On the outside there is like a crust so I took a razor and shaved off the tip the inside was soft. I then rubbed it on to my finger then rubbed it in to the lines. The more pourous the material used to wipe it clean the easer it pulls it back out, so once you get it in try using a sheet of paper to rub out side of the surface and if you give it around a half hour to an hour it will start to hadden in the cracks allowwing you to clean the outside better with a rag and some mineral oil. Also if you use your finger you can more control that the color goes into the cracks and not rub the surface.
