The M3 will fit the XD. Have you looked at the TLR-1 or TLR-2? Both are excellent options.

I still feel the best fitting light for the XD is the Glock Tactical light and it is tough to beat the price. You have to fight to get the M3 on/off of and XD. The Glock light just slides on with little effort an locks into place.

Just FYI as I recall the M3 does not have the combo laser/light. I own for several years now (since it came out) the M6 light/laser combo unit, and have dropped stepped and kick it without a single problem.

I've shot with it thousands of rounds and it fits perfectly on the XD.

Highly reccomended.

Nerves you think the M6 which is the same size as the M3 probaly fits perfectly on your xd because it is the 45ACP

Here's a few Pics on the Insight M6 on my XD 45 ACP. I do not own a 9mm XD (Yet) but I have seen this light attached to a 9mm XD service and Tac. No difference on the Service 9.

I have a TLR-1, same as the TLR-2 just without the laser. Recently I was back home and my nephew wanted to play with my flashlights. I didn't let him play with it, but I let him take my TLR-1 down to the corner about 70 yards away and shine it back at me. I couldn't believe how much it hurt my eyes from that distance. There's no way I will go back to a normal bulb in a flashlight again if I can help it.

Also, I love how easy the TLR lights go onto the gun. Compared to lights that you have to slide on, this one just pretty much clamps on. I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything else, other than a TLR-2 for the laser.

Just the LED that came with it. It's 90 lumen I believe. Now don't get me wrong, it's not going to light you up like a spotlight from that distance, but I can honestly say it was very uncomfortable to my eyes. My dad and gf thought so too. I also couldn't believe how much my 1 watt LED light that I have, which puts out 30 lumens was annoying from that distance too. Definitely enough to ruin someone's night vision, that's for sure. I wish it was easy to show how bright it was from that distance. It'd be nice to be able to send my light to anyone who wanted to try it, just so they could see. But, I'd hate to lose my light lol. I am just really impressed with that, vs my normal xenon light that I have. I think the whiter light of the LED lights up a lot better, and a lot brighter.

One thing to note too, there was a street light behind the person holding the light, and also a street light behind me a bit so it wasn't pitch black. I'd like to try these out somewhere in the country away from all lights. Granted, nobody unless you are military are going to be using your tac light from that distance much at all, but I can guarantee this light is easily bright enough to hurt someone's eyes and light them up good from 30-40 yards. But it's still bright and very uncomfortable to your eyes from the 70 yard distance. Maybe I will go out somewhere with my gf in the country and try this out in the pitch black, then report back on this. I just know there's no way I would go to a xenon bulb for a light if I can help it.

I actually own several surefire flash lights, I also own other 4 cells and 500 lumens (expensive) that stay in the truck and each vehicle in my house and my childrens cars are equip with at least one good quility light. My e1 has been dropped from a 5 story parking lot to the concrete side walk, and it never turned off or even blinked.
