Night Sights

Hey I was just wondering if anybody knows what are the best night sights?
I want them to be real bright even during the day.
Something that would help me to acquire the target faster.
I was looking at the Trijicon are they good?(pretty expensive)

I recommend the TFO's (around $90), bright during both day and night. I have them and like em alot.

What are your main uses? Every sight has it's pros and cons. TFO's are good for close shooting and carry, not good for precise shooting at distance for instance.

I shoot mostly @ 25yards.
To be honest I just want to be able to acquire the target faster.
I just started shooting a couple of months ago. I'm finding it difficult to get a good site picture quickly and I figured the sights might help.
The reason why it is so important to me that they are BRIGHT during the day is because my range closes at dusk. I have never fired my gun at night.(and hope I never have to)

At dusk, fiber helps if you don't have good light, you can always sight black them to tone them down if they are distracting. I would suggest a Dawson .100 front and adjustable rear since it seems like accuracy at distance is where you find happiness.

Part of your issue is understanding the basics. If you just started shooting, there are some basics you must learn before hitting groups at 25 yards. You need to first learn the proper grip, stance, sight picture and trigger pull (most of which can be learned during dryfire practice). Once you have learned to keep the gun still, you can start moving back.

I would suggest you start the process at 5 yards. Consistantly hit the groups you want and move back 5 yards each time you are happy with the results. I don't care who you are 25 yards is a long shot with a handgun and it take practice to get good at it.

I have TFO's on both my XD's. They are essential equipment in my book!

Can't beat TFO's brightness day or night.

I have to disagree with the statement that TFO's are not good for distance shots. I just installed them two days ago and I was getting consistent head shots at 25 yards with no problems, using the sight blades in full light, not the dots. Granted, I'm an experienced shooter and have no problems with this distance anyway with a properly sighted in gun. As for acquiring a 'fast sight picture' at 25 yards, that is pretty much unrealistic, and unnecessary too. At 25 yards you should be sighting in carefully. That said, I was 'popping out' from behind a barricade at 22 yards in low light using the three dots and getting solid center mass groups. But I've also been doing, and teaching this for 20 years. Practice is the key. Start close, and SLOW. When you can shoot fast and get small groups, then move back.

To answer your original question - the TFO's are the brightest, easiest to acquire sights in day or night I have ever owned, or shot on any gun.
