sitting and drawing from a hip holster, conventional or cross is a PITA. even sitting for extended periods can be uncomfortable with a pistol, its so much easier and comfortable to come out from a shoulder rig, so start wearing a lightweight sportcoat or blazer.

I wonder if it will allow the holster to be mounted on the left side of the seat, where it would be hard for passengers to see it? All they would see would be the nylon web strap.... If it has one of those "squeeze" buckles you would only need to 'fit' it once and it should then fit all buses. You could also have some sort of seat cover that hangs low enough to 'drape over' the holster when you are out of your seat, then when you sit down you either flip the bottom part back and sit on it, or tuck the excess under you while seated. Or the left side option you had mentioned would work if you can shoot lefty.

What about a Derringer on a springloaded mount up your sleeve? Or a remote controlled taser mounted next to the door with a hidden button on the steering wheel? Or a Mall Ninja friend that always sits in the first seat?
