Who has used a non-white crayon on their XD?

I saw a picture of someone's XD that had the logo colored in with a bright green crayon that looked really good. I have been searching for a while for those pics, but I can't seem to find them. I am looking for some different color options besides the white that everyone is doing. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Green is my favorite color, (color of my eyes) so I used my daughters new box of crayola crayons that had a metallic green crayon. I heated the slide for a second or tow with a torch, then applied the crayon, let it cool, then lightly buffed it. It looked pretty cool, metalic sparkled nice. But then I took it over to let a buddy shoot it, and being he is a "purist" when it comes to guns (he has a 10' x 5' water proof, safe in his basment for most of his guns, some he stores off site) , I cleaned it off.

It did look good tho!

I really like that look with the model car paint. How hard was that to get down in the letters? Would you be able to do it for the logo on top of the slide where the etching is more complex? How permanent is that paint? Is there a certain type of paint to use and where can I find it? I would like something that will last, but I would like to be able to remove it if I decide to change colors or anything. Thanks.

Here is another picture. I left it very lightly colored in on purpose. You could go a little darker if you wanted to. You can buy the little vials of Testor paint for about a buck (pretty wide selection of colors to choose from) and a fine tipped brush for a couple of bucks (walmart carries a pretty good selection). Fill it in, (you will get runoff) let it sit for a couple of minutes, then simply wipe off. To get it completly off I just used a toothpick and you can poke it out fairly easy. I have shot the guns with it and it wont come off.

Works on the sights too if you want to change the factory white dots.

Very nice looking guns. Did you just use black to fill in on that Bitone? It is a lot more subtle than the green on black, but I like that look too.

Yes. That's what I was going for on the bi-tone, a kinda subtle look. I wiped down a lot of the paint, but you can get it darker if you wish to have more contrast.
