.22 lr conversion kit...
Don't suppose that anyone knows if anyone is already making one for the XD? I have been searching for some time but can't find one.
That said, if nothing else, I have contacted Advantage Arms and they have informed me that they are working on one now and should be releasing one near the start of next year... but that does require waiting. If there isn't one out already then I figure that, if nothing else, others will be happy to know that there will be one. |

I bet a nice .22 pistol would be as cheap as the conversion kit...

yeah, but it wouldn't be an XD.
Windaria, from other threads, i hear they will be coming out wiht one in Janurary. Here's one that says that Advantage Arms should out with one soon. I have a 22 Sig Mosquito and it's definately not the same thing. Sites are different, trigger pull is different, look and feel is differnt. hold your cash and wait for the conversion. 22 Conversion!!!

I could understand wanting the conversion kit if you simply want to practice a lot with the same gun you'll use in competition, but if you want the conversion just for cheap shooting I have to agree with others, there are a load of nice 22 handguns out there.
I use a S&W 41 for Bullseye, have a backup Hi-Standard Supermatic Trophy and then a S&W 622 for just plain plinking. Now I enjoy all of my XD's, but don't believe I'd ever be interested in a conversion kit. Oh, don't forget some of the fantastic new Ruger's! |

Ever heard of "X-ring " bullets? they are rubber bullets that you fire thru your gun, they are only propelled by the primer( NO powder)the pistol will not cycle, but is excellent for practicing your first round shot from the draw, and they are very accurate, I shoot them out of my 1911's in the house(do not shot at people or anything that may break, it will break skin) out to 7 meters and hit point of aim, point of impact. I use a BB gun bullet trap. All you will need beside the bullets is primers, used cases, and a priming tool, you can deprime the used cases with a punch and a hammer.By the way, you may fire and re-use the X-ring bullets as many times as you want.
