One thing that I'd like to add on this probably wont matter to most of you, but for the Military and LE guys in here:
Its noisy as hell. I have the drop rig for the M-9 that i tought i'd get as a trial while i'm here in the States for a while. I havent had any type of mechanical failure but i've realized why so many tactical holsters arent made from kydex. My lanyard clicks against the outside of it, the pistol rattles against the inside of it, and between the two i'm developing a noise-discipline complex. Also, the magazine "pouches" are noisy AND unsecure, let your gear hit them in a vehicle and they're gone! |

I just bought the Blackhawk non-serpa version for my XD-40 Service. I got the Blackhawk because of the adjustability and paddle/belt options. I have no complaints, but I think that the Blade-tech is of higher quality.

BTW - I've seen a few posts saying that the gun is loose in the holster. Not the case with my XD9 5" tactical pistol. It fits perfectly.

I tried many different holsters and also got a serpa not to long ago they are awesome holsters. i like the fact that they come with the belt attachment and the paddle as well. the paddle is my favorite and is as secure of a paddle as i have found. the thing dosen't move one bit. i have mine canted foward for better concelament. it is my daily carry holster, i carried an xd service model in it, until i got my sub compact the other day, and it is now my carry gun, i love the xd's and i love the serpa holsters.
and i also agree that www.pistolgear.com is a great place to do business with! |

Just got my Blackhawk carbon fiber serpa for Christmas for my XD40 and my XD40 has Truglo's fiber optic sights. Fits perfectly (the front blade has about a 1/16" clearance in the sight channel (but that's enough). I don't know about being loose, mine is nice and snug without any looseness at all. Operational function of the serpa system is terrific. I'm looking forward to using this new holster exclusively with my XD this upcoming summer shooting season.

I use the Serpa with my 1911 Wilson Combat CQB. I've carried it and participated in IDPA matches with it (running around and rolling on the dirt) with no problems. This of course if first hand experience...
,,,that's not to say, I don't wanna know from second hand, last time I check, I need all the information I can get my hands on; Good or bad, so although I do not agree with the "tone" of the negative advice, I for one appriciate it. But, I also am of the belive that I should look at all aspects... Base on my experience, and the type of weapon I use it with, I having nothing but positive things to say about the use og the serpa, with a 1911.
