the risk of an ND during the drawstroke under adrenal stress.
I imagine that can happen with any holster.

Thats why you must practice practice practice. That goes for any gear your actually going to carry. You can never do enough dryfiring or practice enough. It becomes second nature even under an adrenaline rush, if you do it enough. But then again thats just my 2 cents. Keep the change.

I thought about getting one of the thigh rigs for work. However, when I read what Paul Gomez wrote about the jamming problems preventing the pistol from being unlocked and drawn, I decided to pass on it and stay with my HSGI and Safariland brands instead.

I still like mine....but I can see how during an adrenaline rush someone might have a finger engage the trigger......but I can see that happening with ANY holster. I can respect the opinions of someone not liking this holster or thinking its unsafe. We have all heard of ND all the time and yes it has happened to SEVERAL experienced people. The safest way to handle a firearm is not to handle one at all. As far as the holster breaking away from the belt as talked about in the article......I would say thats pretty good considering there was 2 men pulling on it for a while, what were you expecting to happen? Just my 2 cents.

Killerquad, you'd say differently if you'd seen the video clip of that event. It let go disturbingly easy. However, that's something that Blackhawk has since fixed.
The biggest problems with it is still the potential for jamming and the potential for an ND. It's a holster where the mechanism for release is to press with your finger in the same position where it normally goes into the trigger guard and onto the trigger. You can try to pretty it up as much as you want, but no matter how you look at it, it's a bad design. There are better solutions on the market right now, that don't put you in an unnecessarily risky situation. Why use something that isn't optimal when there's a better option?

Youre right I didnt see an actual video of it. Well I still say its a nice holster and I really like mine but I do believe there is the possibility of the lock jamming as there would be with any mechanical item. I think mine is going to see more "range" time than "carry" time. I think I might have to go with the rotating hood holster for everyday carry. Hopefully Blackhawk will address the possibility for the locking mech getting jammed and fix it as they did with the attachment. I would still recommend this holster but as a range only rig. My adrenaline can get going even at the range but its never a life or death thing there so I can say that I would feel very comfertable using it there.

does anyone what Rev.## the holster with the problem was? Looking at mine it looks like that would need something a little bigger than a "pinhead". Or one giant pin.

One thing I have noticed is that the weapon is supposed to fit somewhat loose in the holster since the retention comes from the Serpa system not the actual grip from the holster itself. I was able to stick a 1/8 craftsman screwdricer in behing the "rocking" lever and was still able to with draw the gun although with a lil more effort than normal. I tried to tighten the retention screw on the holster all the way and the gun would not budge at all with the same screwdriver stuck behind the release lever. Hell I didnt want to come out from just a "normal" draw. That could have been a contibuting issue to the "pin sized pebble jam".
