Fellow xd users,
Will it be a liability if I ever have to use a converted 357 sig in self defense. |

Uh there will always be some legal issue. Check out what Massad Ayoob has to say on that subject. He does a lot of articles in different magazines. He is number one on the legal issues and guns.

I'd worry far more about it being a "good shoot" than the hardware used. If you were in the right it wont matter nearly as much. If the motive/legality is questionable then your really going to be in for it when they bring up the crazy stuff.

Ayoob talks a lot. He's very knowledgeable, and had forgotten more about guns than most of us know. He's been preaching for years that, for legal reasons, you shouldn't use reloads for self-defense. Even he can't cite a single instance when this was successfully used against someone in court. It's just a personal belief he has that he passes off as fact. Just my opinion.

I know alot of people like the conversion barrels, I'm looking to get a tac 40 to 9 one myself. But for ccw purposes, I would stick to the barrel that your gun was fitted for. It would suck for TSTHTF and you gun jam because the mag lips won't feed right or whatever.
As far as legal goings, a bullet is a bullet.
