As Knight said, don't worry about it. It's a tool designed to work so focus on maintaining the mechanics. WHEN the finish wears, get it recoated. Mine looked like they went through a sandblaster when I got back from Iraq. Both my 40 and 45 were worn bad but they functioned perfectly and that's all that matters. My 45 is off getting resurfaced and sights replaced, my 40 I let my roommate gunkote here. It's just part of carrying guns.
