Question Trijicon vs Truglo

Hi all. Just bought my XD-9 Service and must replace the stock sights with something more visible to my aging peepers. These two manufacturers seem to be frontrunners, but I don't know nearly enough to make a buying decision. I expect most of my shooting will be during daytime hours, but I certainly don't want to rule out the possibility of having/wanting to use the gun at night. I've read all I could find here, but if anyone who has used either or both could chime in, that would be most appreciated. TIA.

I have some of my weapons with Trijicon and Metro and jsut recently added my first Truglo product. which was the TFO's....

...I'm 41 years old and I have to tell you, I could not reccomend the TFO's any higher. Just the best I've experienced.

Truglo TFO's - brightest of all the nightsights I believe.

Excellent. Looks like TFOs will be the choice, but if anyone else has a different opinion, I'd love to hear it. Now, to start saving my shekels. Thanks.

I had absolutely no luck finding the Truglo TFOs in the retail chain, but did find them on eBay from a seller with a 100% positive feeback rating, for $88 + S/H. He has several available. I'd post a link, but I don't know if that's a no-no here or not, so just do a search for Truglo TFO and it'll come up.

I got my TFOs from Pistolgear, and love them. It always seemed silly buying night sights when 99.99% of my shooting was during daylight.

Yeah, they're out of 'em too. Did you put the sights on yourself or use a gunsmith? The vendor seems to think I can do it, but I've never done anything with a pistol except load, fire and clean.

I would send it off to a gunsmith to have them installed. There are countless stories of people trying to do them but the front sight is almost impossible to get off. You could buy them from James from hs2000 and he will install them for you. Or you can send them off to Springer Precision or Canyon Creek and they will install them too. I got mine installed along with a trigger job when I sent mine to Springer.

Tfo

TFO is the way to go, I have trijicon sights on my sig 226 and my Springfield Operator TRP, trijicon can not match the TFO day or night.
