Amsec has a nice all metal handgun vault that will hold two pistols. It has a mechanical pushbutton lock that you can program, so there is never a worry about dead batteries. To open you need to push three of the buttons in the programed sequence, and turn a handle. With a little practice you can open the vault without looking (or in the dark) in under a second.
