I'm really, really cheap, so I bought a golf glove at Wal-mart for shooting my .44 Magnum.

I've only tried it once, but I just used my weightlifting gloves. They are leather, have a little padding in the hands and finger part, and the tips are fingerless so you still have control over the trigger. My wife uses a pair when she shoots. But the grip of my XD feels so good that I never use them anymore.

the only time i have ever used gloves is when i did team tactics training with Bill Jeans, and the only reason i wore them is because we had to carry around a cinderblock. i used Nike batting gloves; they held up very well over 2 days of abuse.

besides cold weather, i have not found a reason for civilians to wear gloves.(unless your carrying around a cinderblock during all your training sessions)

Nope, but I should winter shooting is downright unbearable.

Me too. I wear gloves a lot to protect my hands doing various chores and I wear gloves as soon as the weather starts to break cold, so shooting with gloves falls into my "practice like you play" philosophy.

I'll often wear mechanix gloves even in the summer if I'm going out for a serious day of shooting.
