I found the retention adjustment adequate, but this is my only holster, so maybe I just don't know what I'm missing.
As for the poor fit with a small belt I think that is pretty much a given on any gun that weighs 32 oz. loaded. (Didn't check that weight, but it's a lot with 14 rounds. All that ammo weight feels damn good to me!) I haven't bought a good belt yet, but I used double-sided tape and a little superglue to secure some rubber sheet around the outside. I think it is sold at Wal-Mart and Target to keep rugs from sliding around. There is similar stuff physical therapists use to keep people from sliding off their wheelchair seats that is even stickier, but I didn't want that much friction. Now I'm all good, but I still plan on buying a real belt soon.
