The Blade-Tech Ultimate Concealment Holster

If you have one of these, please tell me your experience with it. http://pistolgear.com/proddetail.php?prod=18BTB&cat=7
I would need a Left handed one for the XD40 Service.

Have you tried one on? They feel kind of like you just shoved the gun into your pants. Also they are well suited to people that want a good IWB that is fairly easy to take off. I did not like it because it was a little tight for my fat roll(needed bigger pants at the time), but other than that it was very easy to conceal, and felt real nice during the draw. I actually like the one they make with the rubber belt loops better because it kind of let the holster and gun find a more comfortable position. The UCH held the gun kind of stiff and in one position. But I gotto say nothing beats leather for IWB though. I have the Desantis IWB for my XD I believe it is the Inner piece. Very nice holster, but again I have a hard time cause'o'the fat roll. Got to work on that. Gave it to my buddy. He uses it to carry his XDSC40 and he loves it. If you have a good store in town they might let you try it on (in store only) before you buy. Most places that cater to cops, uniform supply stores, "tactical" stores, and security supply stores have dozens of different manufacturer's holsters and they might let you do that.

Before I talk about the holster, which side is the gun on?

Front or Back?

The front or back photo is actually a trick and I'm carrying it in both. I normally carry the gun in the front so I took a picture before I moved the holster to the more common position.

Before we talk about the holsters concealability, let me start off by saying I'm a small fry, 5'7" and really skinny, cept in the gut, from all that beer. You may think by the flash in the pictures that sometimes its not "concealable", but trust me, it is. I once went over to a friends house, play basketball, ate and they never even noticed a thing until I told him about the gun. He thought it was cool and wanted to get one himself. :P To date, no one has ever said anything. In all reason though, I don't care if my gun prints or not these days, I know the law and I know my rights, if it prints, it prints, it is still "concealed" and covered by view of the public.

Great holster, excellent retention. Couple down sides. Its uncomfortable at movie theaters or any place you sit for a long time (if worn in the back). It also wears down your slides finish, but what holster doesn't.

I'm a lefty just like you and if you can stand the wait, get it. Get a good holster belt too.

What night raider just said can't be stressed enough. Good belt! Get a good belt! I use the wilderness, and uncle mikes instructor belts. Best of the cheaper belt money can buy. Can't imagine how many people I have talked to about holster problems and their belt wasthecause. And as far as cheap goes 40$ is cheap when the high class leather belts go for 100$-300$.

Yup, a good belt is a must, I use a Wilderness Frequent Flyer belt, as you can see in the photo's above.

I bought mine about 3 years ago and havent ever used it. never liked it, Thats just me though, most people love it! I feel it rides a little to high and is not secure enough. It is a right hand one. I called Bladetech and i guess they can make you custom belt loop's for any lenth and angle you want for about thirty five bucks. I bet if i had a new belt loop made id be happier.

Blade-techs are very expensive to not be happy with. I wish I could give back some of the holsters I have not liked. They take up space in my unused gear box now. Hmmmm.... Ebay, gunbroker, holsterswap....?? Maybe.

I like my UCH. It is comfortable and secures the pistol well. If you're looking for Kydex, I recommend it. I have a Tucker Gunleather belt to support it.

I haven't been too happy with mine. 9:00 is uncomfortable while standing and 8:00 is unconfortable while sitting. But, it is my only IWB, so I have nothing to compare too. I do prefer 8:00. The problem is, at that position it seems to move/cant on me. I don't have a wilderness belt, or anything like that though. You might take a serious look at the CTAC. With belt clips spread out, I think it is probably a more secure holster. Again, reminding you that I have no experiance with it.
