What criteria is used to decide between .100 and .125?

Do the numbers imply one is .25 wider than the other?

You would have to see the difference to make your own decision. The real way to think about it would be to think of a thin fron sight and a wide front sight. Thin is better for long shots, but a little harder to pick up quickly. The wide front sight is just the opposite. Easy to pick up for quick short range shots, not as good for longer shots. It also depends on your eyesight. Do you have good vision, or bad vision? The better you eyes are the easier it is to pick up the front sight. Then the smaller you can go.

A thinner blade always for more target area to the left and right of the front post. If you go with fiber in the front, the dot is the same on both the 100 and 125 wide.

I run with the 100 wide on all of my guns, however that does not mean it is the best. In reviewing our sales stats for Dawson sights over the last two years, 55% have gone with the 100 wide, 45% went with the 125 wide.

One other thing to consider is which rear sight do you plan on using? The factory rear sight has a wider notch than the Dawson rear sights. I just bought the .125 to go with my factory rear(from Old School). The factory front is ~.145 so .125 is still a narower sight but not as extreme as the .100. Food for thought. Good luck--the Dawson's are awesome!
