I understand this optic will fit the same dovetail as the Sig P226 (using the proper adapter mount). Does anyone here use one? Are they hard to set up for a non-gunsmith like myself? What tools would I need to set it in place and zero correctly?

don't know...but let us know how it goes. for some reason, i like these sights a lot. it is a 2 piece setup, correct? the part in the sight rails, and then the optic itself???

they seem pretty sweet to me. so, PLEASE let us know how it turns out.

I can't remember if it was the Docter, JPoint, or Optima. Might try a search for those.

I have a J-Point, which is similar to the Dr Optic, on a Glock, and it works just as I hoped it would. It was very easy to mount, it is fast and accurate and holds zero, and it has held up to over 1,000 rounds 9mm. It also weighs so little, you hardly even notice it.

I was worried about durability, because they have to withstand the slide slamming back and forth. So far with the 9mm, it has held up fine.

My next step, when I'm ready to spend the money, is to put a J-Point or Doctor on my XD 40 or Kimber 10mm, and hopefully it will hold up to the punishment.

I think the Doctor is built a little more solid than the J-Point. It is also more expensive.

Brander: Did you need any special tools to get the adapter plate into the rear dovetail on your Glock?

I used a sight pusher, and it installed easily. You could also user a hammer and a wood/nylon dowl to tap it in.

Wow, I could swear that Optima had some for $89 + mount at the Orlando show a couple of months ago. Lemme see if I can dig up some info. I almost got one, not sure if it is a refurb, but they didn't have the sig mount.

Okay I found the place. ABO USA Inc down in Miami. They took over the repairs of Tasco a while ago.

That's the place. I don't know anything about them, other than they had some Optima red dots for cheap at the Orlando gun show. Perhaps refurbs, not sure.
