DIY extended mag release
Has anybody tried to make an extended mag release by drilling and tapping and installing and cap screw in their existing mag release? I'm thinking about trying it. What do you think?

It has been done many times and is easy to do. I just use the Barsto mag release because that is the one the Springfied Custom shop uses and so it is USPSA friendly.

DIY extended mag release
I tried it using my drill press but the stock mag release is very hard. Decided to buy one instead.

The mag release I had installed by loves2shoot is outstanding & well worth having some else do it.
Thanks Scott.
