Canyon Creek Trigger Job

Would like to hear some feedback on your experience with the CC trigger job. What I'm looking for specificly is your thoughts on the various pull weights. My gun is strictly target and am trying to figure out what the ideal pull is before i have this trigger job done. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I've had target trigger jobs done on several of my guns over the decades, all but one by a local gunsmith.

I just got my XD45ACP 5" back from Canyon Creek last week, I got the full trigger job at 3#. I use this gun for range-fun only.

My bullseye guns are at 2# but they are for really specialized target work with wimpy handloads (or .22).

The trigger job I got from CC was really outstanding, it's like having a different gun in your hands. The local gunsmith felt the trigger and kept dry firing it and shaking his head, it was that good.

I think 2# is too light, the transition from that to a regular gun is hard for me to make. I recommend 3#. I'm assuming like you said it's only a range gun, nothing more.

The only trigger work I've ever had done to my carry or home defense guns has been to get the trigger smoothed-up a bit to eliminate the creep. My Sigs never needed that, they have a fine trigger.

T.

I've got about 500 rounds thru my XD9 Tac since I got it back from Rich.
It was a great shooting gun before, but now....
WOW.

To be honest, asking questions about Rich's work is a waste of time. If you do a search on XDTalk, you will see that he has done more triggers than anyone else, and his work is top-rate. All of my XDs have been enRich'd and they are all better because of it.

Beyond that Rich is not a one-trick-pony. Rich is a gunsmith that does this for a living; building guns, installing sight, doing repairs, custom finishes, etc.

Best of luck! Welcome to the forum. We are glad to have you.

Yeah I'm with Old School on this one. Their work is pretty much beyond reproach. I've never heard a single bad thing about them, and considering the volume of work they do, thats pretty unbelievable.

I know thats where I'll be sending my XD, as soon as I can stand to be without it

Canyon Creek's website is down...

Does anyone have any info as to why?

I want to send my XD40 in for a trigger job.

I don't think he questioning Rich's work. Like me, I don't know if I should get a 3 or 4 lb trigger. And what about the other stuff on his WO. What is good for me and what isn't.

I suppose talking with Rich would be a good thing.

You are correct. What is best for you may not be best for someone else. Talking to Rich would be the best thing.

My suggestion?
Call Rich and talk with him.
Tell him what you expect to use it for and what you MAY use it for.
Let him make some suggestions for you.
