Fobus holsters ?
I just ordered a Fobus SP11LBH left handed Holster for my XD-4 . It's pretty tuff finding a left handed holster in a right handed world..lol. I originaly wanted a black hawk serpa I believe was the name but they dont make it in left handed holsters so then I was going to go with a blade tech and there made to order up to 8 weeks for delivery so I decided to go with this Fobus. I needed one for work so couldnt wait, well I could but didnt want to lol anyway I hope I made a good decision and was wondering how everyones experience was with fobus. Thanks in advance for your input.

My first holster for my XD was a right hand Fobus belt holster. It was their first generation holster and needed a lot of improvement...it rode too low, held the gun too tightly, and wasn't relieved enough to allow a full drawing grip. I modified mine with a Dremel and added tension screws, but it now sits in a drawer or closet or somewhere--who cares!! It pretty much sucked!
I now own their second generation paddle holster, and it is my favorite carry holster--I really like it. It rides higher and tight to my body at a good angle for concealment (and driving). Also has tension adjustment and allows for a full grip. I'd say it's my CCW holster 80% of the time. I have a Fist #8 for the rest of the time--when I need a thinner cover garment. For ~$15 you can't go wrong with their second generation holsters, which I believe is what the SPII means. It doesn't compare to a Blade-Tech, however. That's what I use for range and competition, but you get what you pay for in a Blade-tech. I still think you'll like the Fobus, but if you're like me, you'll end up with 6 or 7 holsters with a couple of favorites. Good luck! |

Thanks for the input, I'll give the fobus a chance since my options are limited and I'll probably order a blade tech and wait the 8 weeks but until then i'll have something besides my tactical nylon one. Thanks again.

I agree with what WyoXD said. First generation was ok for my purposes, newer ones are much improved. I just bought a Sig 220 Carry model, and there's not a lot of holster options out there yet. I picked up the Fobus until the BladeTech is ready. I'm pretty happy with it, but I prefer IWB. For the money, it's worth it.

I have a newer one and really really like it. It keeps it in the perfect place for my likings and has never fell out nor has it felt like it was about to fall out. I have not tried to conceal with it though, as I imagine that might be a little difficult. I definately plan on getting a Crossbreed holster once I get some credit card stuff paid off.
