DO NOT BUY LASERMAX for SUB COMPACT! yet...
see my initial reviews here:
Lasermax for the XD subcompact - Anyone try them yet? BUT THE NEW NEWS IS THIS: I just got a call back from Lasermax and the lever that I had a problem with is going through a re-design. They are estimating a one month delay in shipments and are sending out replacements for free to those who already have sites. The fix is cosmetic only so they are not worried about malfunctions in the meantime. just wanted to let ya'll know. I'd hold off on making any purchases for now.

dtdprobe,
Please let us know what Lasermax says about your issue of being 3 inches low as well. I'm thinking they will probably offer to adjust that.. Thanks again for giving us such good info! Mojoski

Has anyone gotten a final word on the 3" off issue? I'd love to hear Lasermax's comments on it. Very interested in the sight, I can deal w/ the location of the on/off switch (i've got big hands).

second: your "big hands" will make it nearly impossible to press the switch, and not help the matter. the button is recessed into the gun and therefore it takes the tip/fingernail of my very small, skiny hand to get in there. good luck with that though. Lasermax has been nothing but accomodating, so I would guess that they would re-sight the laser or send a replacement.

I'm thinking about giving it a go. I could always modify the button to make it a little easier to use.
Most importantly, I don't plan on relying on it in a life or death situation. Just want to make sure its sighted right before I leave the range, then if it works in a pinch, great, if not, I can rely on practice and training. I'm more interested in its ability to defuse a situation than as a tool for sight acquisition

I wish they were not so $$$$$$. I would love one of these for training, dry fire, and for normal use. But if they cost so much and are not any good . . .
