Don's Guide Rod. Wow Wow Wow

Alright I received my DGR and 22# spring from pistol gear on Saturday. Would have been friday but the stupid mail man delivered to the neighbors house down the street.

This setup is just great target re alignment is just incredable now. I can now put a mag of 12 rounds on the paper radid fire in about a 5" group and before I was lucky to get all 12 on the paper.

My girlfriend shot the 40 Friday and let one round fly and handed it back to me. Today she put all 12 through the barrel. I am excited this is worth every penny if you do not have it get it.

This coming saturday is my CCW class and on Monday the XD is headed to Canyon Creek to put the truglo TFO's on I also purchased from pistol gear. I am also getting the trigger face smoothed, 4# trigger job and a refinish to match the frame.

I can't wait to get it back from that.

Well geez, I'll say it since no one else did - congratulations

I've been considering DGR, don't know why I keep hesitating, every review of the thing is fantastic.

I appreciate your comments!

I thing the DGR is one of the best investments one can make in an XD, especially the Service model. The benefit of playing with spring weights is key, no to mention that the DGR will never break into several pieces during use.

OS

NOTE: The chance of the Service model's stock recoil assembly breaking up is very, very rare.

Not only does it replace the two piece guide rod that could break with a very nice one piece unit, but with the 22# spring it reduced felt recoil and improved sight alignment after a shot. Not only that but it feels much smoother when fireing. You can pick one up from Pistol Gear they are great very fast shipping http://pistolgear.com/ go there for all of your XD accesories

Thanks I think i'll pick one up, the only thing im a little concerned with is if it would cause any feeding problems because of the heavier spring, especially if you limp wrist it a little. But I think i'll give it a try anyway because the price is very reasonable. I can Always pull it out. Thanks for the input.

Ok, I'm calling you out - Where are the DGRs for the XD45ACPs?? I check PistolGear.com constantly. At one point it said they would be available around the end of May. Here we are at the end of June - Where are they? Now all it says on the site is "NOT for the XD45ACP".

C'mon, gimme a hard date, here: When are DGRs for XD45ACPs coming out??

The Tactical Rod is now available. Up to Don when the Service model will be ready to ship.
