Which Clip do you have/use with your CTAC Holster?
After reading positive comments here fromforum members, Ive decided to try the CTAC holster. I want to know from those who have the 45aCP and own a CTAC holster, which clip they have/preffer/use.
I'm an old 1911 guy, with the mandatory leather holsters, but since the XD change my mind about polymer, I though I try a Kydex holster... |

Same story here - 1911 guy with leather VMax II holster who didn't want to wait/pay (I'm a lefty) for new VM for my XD. I went with the CTAC - great rig, great customer service and quick turnaround time. I think the CTAC is a great holster. Very versatile, stable, concealable and comfortable. I originally ordered it with the C-clips. I have since ordered the V-clips and I must say that I love them. The best in concealability and stability. I did need to have a local shoe repair shop sew in the velcro strips to the belt as they were coming off after a month. Since then no problems. The only downside to it is there is no 'easy on/off' of the rig as the velcro grabs hard. You to pretty much put the rig on, take it off with your pants off or at least down around your knees. So if you are the type that needs to take his rig off to stow it in your car or something, that is a consideration.
Good luck. |

I got the standard clips, and with black dress pants and a black belt they're barely noticeable. My XD45 Service practically disappears with the shirt tucked in. I'm picking up a XD45 Tactical later this week and am going to get a C-TAC for that too.

I have the V-Clips. They work well, but as was mentioned the stick on velcro will eventually work loose. I am currently looking at the beltman for one with velcro sewn in.

Because I'm used to carrying my old full-size 1911's, I use a 1 3/4" belt from The Beltman. If I were to go with the C-TAC for my XD45 Service Model (my new carry pistol), do I need to go with the J-clip? Is the C-clip wide enough? I would guess not.
Thanks for any help!

I believe if you order directly from Comp-Tac you can specify the belt width you will be using in the comments field, or just call them with your order.
I also use a 1 3/4" belt with my C-Tac but I got the V-Clips so one size fits all. |

Just as a follow-up: I ordered my left hand Comp-Tac CTAC holster with the 1 3/4" standard clips through Gunner's Alley. They were cheaper than Comp-Tac direct.
