Ok so a question for all of you Comp shooters, I dont shoot competitions, not yet anyway, for carry/home defense you suggest fixed instead of adjustable? I am sending my 45 service out to Rich in about a week and I want to make sure that if I am getting $750 worth of work done I get the right stuff.

My personal suggestions?
For CC/Home Defense, you're rarely going to be talking bright sunlight. It's more likely to be indoors or evening.

TFO's or Trijicon Night Sights.

Another suggestion for home defense? Get a Surefire. Never shoot something you can't see.

I keep my 6P right next to the 45 on the night stand, what i am wanting is something balanced, a good carry sight, thats good for day or night.

I am very pleased with the Dawson Adjustable FO sights on my XD45 Tax and XD40 Service, but I do suggest you have them put on by a professional.

I've seen enough guys beat their XD to death trying to knock out the old and put in the new.

If you want a dual purpose sight, the fixed Dawson is a good choice, just work your loads to POA.

I appreciate the advice guys, since I am sending it to Rich at Canyon Creek for a bunch of other work I just wanted to be sure I am getting the right sights put on. Looks like I will go with the Dawson fixed then! Thanks again.

Loves2Shoot thank you for the great work on my XD9. The local USPSA match had a lot of bending & squatting so I decided to go Production & finished 15 of 29 & 2nd in Division. I won Golden Bullet Standards in Division with a 4.4HF so the money I spent was well worth while. The Dawson FO is so clear/sharp that I am considering putting one on my L10 gun. Ammo Winchester White Box 115gr, now to work up a load for the 147gr MasterBlaster & recoil will be a thing of the past.
