Anyone know if a mod is required

I just got an efk 357 Sig barrel for my 40. Will the barrel drop in and be ready for use without any mods ?

Some require minor fiting. I believe Old School has the instructions posted on his web store site.

According to Frank at EFK, most of them drop right in. I talked to him about fitting mine, and I tried the method that is posted on pistolgear.com, but mine needed a bit more than that. Frank said that there must have been a minor design change and about 20% of them don't drop in. I think this is the locking block change, as mine has the relief cuts in the corners. I sent it off for them to fit it and am waiting for it to come back. I probably could have done it myself with a lot of patiene and a dremel, but I'm the type that will let someone who knows exactly what they're doing do the job for me instead of me messing something up.

My barrel fitting session consisted of 10 minutes with my wife's nail-file. On the first trip to the range I had one FTF out of 250 rounds, so I filed a bit more... Now I'm just waiting to get back to the range this weekend to try it out.
