(SOB) Holster - Which one?

I'm a southpaw and trying to decide between a R.H. CTAC at 6:00 or a L.H. BladeTech SOB holster. Do any of you CTAC owners carry 6:00, and if so how is the confort while sitting? Also, do any of you own the BladeTech SOB? I own a BladeTech UCH, and find it unconfortable at 9:00 while standing and unconfortable at 8:00 while sitting. I am 5'10", 175lbs, and wear Wranglers which are tighter than relaxed fit jeans.

Sorry, I coulnd't figure out how to just make the pic appear on this post.

Robbed this pick off of Blade Tech's website.

I am a lefty too and am trying to decide if SOB is the solution to me too but there are a ton of folks who don't think its a good idea. Check out this website as to why: www.thegunzone.com

I am thinking IWB at the 8:00 position might work for me.

I've spent hours on the internet reading about the concerns with carrying SOB. I've taken them into considerations, and have still decided that one of these two holsters will be my next purchose. Unless of course someone on here has some major negative feedback on the quality of these two holsters.

SOB dangers

The dangers of the SOB in my opinion is just another urban myth. Nothing more than a bunch of couch commandos trying to sound like they've been there done that.

SOBs have been around a long time and will continue to be.

The odds of getting killed in a car crash are far higher than getting parylyzed or otherwise injured by wearing an SOB.

(putting on flame retardant jacket)

Just my 2 cents, but I make 'em and I wear 'em so I suppose I have a bit of room to speak on the issue.

thanks for listnin'

Mark

Bump.

C'mon, someone here has to have owned a BladeTech SOB, or wears their CTAC at 6:00.

I sometimes wear my crossbreed at 6. No problems here.

There's something comforting about looking over in the middle of the night, after your eyes have adjusted. There on the night stand, you see three green dots in a triangle pattern. Either the mouse sized Sam Fisher or my 40 tac with TFO's is there when I need it.

I have carried my S&W Mod. 60 in a Galco SOB for a number of years.

Don't know about the so called "urban myths" of SOB carry but I can share my personal experience with carrying the holster. I found carrying directly over my spine in classic SOB to be really uncomfortable when I tried to sit down. Particularly when sitting on any kind of a straight back chair and, for that reason, I don't carry it directly over my spine any more.

I am right handed and found that when moving the holster to the right just a bit (say 5:30) it became very, very comfortable, very stable, and really concealable but readily accessible, so that is what I do to this day.

Great holster for me just not directly SOB. FWIW!

Well, as a holster maker, Id say Im anything but a couch potatoe when it comes to gun leather. I dont recommend them for EVERYONE! I personally know of people who suffered back injuries from falling on their guns.

With that being said....you can get hurt falling down your stairs or taking a shower...also.

SOB carry and holsters have to be well thought out. The near vertical or slightly canted holster that is shown in your second link, is asking for trouble.
If the cant of the holstered gun doesnt match your draw stroke...basically you cant get your gun as smoothly as you COULD get it and it just adds unnecessary complications to a critical process.

FBI cant is worn more to the side...the farther back you wear it the more cant is needed to match the natural draw stroke the arm/hand take while presenting the gun.

Get the holster you want and that will work for you...just make sure you get one thats designed to work from the location you carry it in. Not one that is gonna make things worse when you actually need your gun.

Shoot well and god bless.

I tried one for a Glock 19. It was comfortable while standing but miserable if sitting !
I always worried that my shirt had pulled up and my gun was showing and that people might be standing behind me with horrified looks !! The only way to check ,of course, is to reach back and feel your gun and that's a poor idea because it then tells all sorts of folks that you've got a gun there !
It seems like such a good idea but I could never get comfortable with it. I sold mine.....mike
