Ameriglo front sight only

Has anyone had any experience just using a front sight only night sight? Im thinking of snagging a couple of these and putting them on my XDs. Do you really need a rear night sight? Ive never had night sights. Thoughts...suggestions?

A front night sight only is a very good option. Most nighttime shootings are at close range all you really need is to find your front sight to get hits.

Go for it!

When I have shot at informal competetions, I rarely used my rear sights. targets under 15ft are front sight only. I have the rear dots blacked out on most of my guns as I find it too confusing to "line up " the three dots for rapid shooting.

Good suggestion, I'm going to go scrape the whiteout off of my 1911's rear sights and try it out at the range!
