(WARNING: Thread Hijack)
sjp2452: I don't think you should let it be a difficult decision when you "strap it on". As a fellow Christian I wonder too about the other persons eternity if I have have to use my weapon, but I take solice in the fact that any person who I have to kill will have made the choice to die that day. We won't always know the consequences of our actions, immediate or eternal, but God he has given us free will. Both the freedom to do harm and the freedom to prevent harm. He has also given us the responsibility to love one another. One of the ways I show that love is to be prepared to defend someone or myself if necessary, and to spare someone if possible. I know that as a father I want my children to defend themselves when necessary, and I can't imagine that my Heavenly Father wouldn't want me to defend myself. For all you know, more people may end up knowing Jesus because you used your weapon than if you hadn't, so be faithfull and do what you believe to be right. I can imagine a lot of scenarios where I would be legally justified in shooting someone, but probably wouldn't. I'd probably draw my weapon and stop them, but as long as they stop the aggression and comply I probably wouldn't stop them in the permanent sense. I've received plenty of grace in my life time, so it only seems fair to exend as much to others as you can. You wear that weapon and thank God for the trust he has placed in you to trust in him if it comes time to use it and remain in awe of the responsability that go along with that trust. You know, you may have a couple of sheepdogs in that congregation and not know it. My pastor does, and I doubt he knows it. And when it is my turn to help watch the little ones during the service, rest assured they are some of the safest little ones in the world, and wouldn't that just freak out some of the parents, and probably the Pre-School Minister as well. Now, on a lighter note: 1) If you are going to defend the flock from the pulpit, you need to have an AR or something proped up behind the lecturn. Unless your Church is little bitty, I'd rather not have you shooting at the guy next to me with your handgun, even if it is an XD, at 50+ yds. 2) On your signature line: Quote:
3) If you go to my church, please don't tell Mrs. K???? that I carry a gun. She'll probably tell me that I can't bring it with me and I'll have to tell her to have you cover my shift cause it ain't staying home!!! If you have to shoot, shoot well!!

Like I said, when I arm up, the decision to defend is made. Deciding to arm up is the difficult one...but you know, I think I like it that way. Thanks for the encouragement, and I won't say a word to Mrs. K.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled (and ending) holster giveaway.

Ok, I got up at the butt crack of 8:30 Saturday morning to see who won and see nothing.
sjp2452- I wasn't looking to go into a whole theological disscussion, I was just trying to dissuade people from voting for you. :P |

Yeah, somebody wake Rob up. I've been sitting here drinking coffee since 0630 waiting to find out who won. Like to find out before I go to the range. I know, I need a life, but at my age even this is better than no life at all.

Come'on Dad, post the winner.
Inquiring minds want to know. Your granddaughter said "good morning papa" We're hitting the road today after we load up the RV, which is after I figure out how to remove it from the house. Ya see, I was backing it in the driveway last night, ya know, so I could have a fast get away this morning, and well, I got distracted by the TV on the dash, so crash and boom, my house grew in size last night by about 400 square foot. Do I fix up the damage today? or just let it go, after all, I have a new family in Texas I am going to go stay with. Now the RV and it's damage, yea, thats gonna be difficult, I seems that the last 4 foot of RV might be staying with the house, oh well, "open air" sleeping quarters i guess. Anywho, we should be on the road (look out) about noon today, heading towards ya , Dad. |

The Winner is.......
OUTSIDERXD is the winner!
Let's have this open up a channel of abundance for you, buddy. Tec, you get an Answer at half-price, if that works for you. Winners should email me their shipping information. Rob@tuckergunleather.com or 800-308-6628. I did sleep in this morning, sorry. Thanks to everyone for playing the game. It was a whole lot of fun and we see that there are some very creative people on this forum who should be submitting scripts to "As the World Twirls" for consideration. Rob
