Sprinco Recoil Reducer for XD

I have an XD tactical and am thinking of trying some stuff on it. I was wondering if anyone has tried the Sprinco Recoil Reducer for the XD?
It is worth it? How did it change your shooting? Is it better or worse than just changing the spring? This is my league gun and would like to improve my scores.

Haven't heard anything on it...sorry. If you do try it and don't end up liking it, we have a trading post forum here and it's usually pretty easy to off-load XD accessories. But do give us a range report!

Sorry...wish I could be more help.

Sorry, I have never heard of this.

doing a google on it.

http://www.sprinco.com/recoil.html
site says:
Extend the life of your weapon by installing a Sprinco Recoil Management Guide Rod System. A secondary, or sub-spring assembly is incorporated onto a full length, heat treated, stainless steel guide rod to cushion the slide to frame impact!

Sprinco USA Recoil Reducers make a significant difference by the management of peak recoil forces within the handgun, which can exceed 1500 ft lbs. at impact! By decelerating the rearward slide velocity with the secondary spring just prior to impact, the Sprinco System reduces these forces by 500 - 750 ft lbs. The graduated sub-spring is engineered and critically positioned in each model to ensure normal cycling and reliability. This is an effective no frills, no gimmick approach to recoil management.

Installation is as easy as installing your stock guide rod system. No firearm modification is necessary to enjoy significant reductions in muzzle flip and perceived (felt) recoil. The system improves your shooting with faster follow up shots, faster sight recovery and improves control of your rapid fire shot strings. While you may not be bothered by the recoil of your gun, expert as well as novice shooters benefit from faster target acquisition and lowered split times.

Some of the benefits of installing a Sprinco Recoil Management System in your firearm include:

LIFETIME WARRANTY AGAINST BREAKAGE
Reduces Muzzle Climb
Protects Your Firearm
Faster Sight Recovery
CMP & IPSC Legal
Reduce Felt (Perceived) Recoil
Heat Treated 17-4 Stainless Steel
Drop in System - No Modification to Firearm

availible for the 5" model only, in 9mm, 357 and 40. cost 69.95 plus shipping.

Put simply, Sounds like a dual spring guide rod, I know you know this.

Never heard of them. Try one. Let us know how it works.

I have tried one and I like. It definitely softens the blow a bit. I don't use them on my tacticals because the reducer is not legal in USPSA Production.

We have sold quite a few, so I am sure some members will share their thoughts on the product.

I use the Sprinco system on my XD 40 Tactical, Browning Hi Powers (9 & 40), CZ 85B, and Glocks. It works better on some models than on others. I think it works very well on recoil control on the XD 40 Tactical. Would I do it again? Yes.

Only works with the stock guide rod though right? Thats a big downfall for all of us in love with the CC Tungsten Guide Rod.
