Newbie on the XD40... Holsters- Oldschool and Vets of XD40
Hey fellas,
First post here.. Been a wheel gun guy my whole life but Kansas just passed a Conceal Carry Law and being and NRA Life member thought I would support the Law. I do go overboard sometimes so I bought a 5" Tact with OD green frame in .40 s&w just to see how a SA gun shoots and not liking my friends Glock I put about 550 rounds through it this past week and a half. Can't wait for the TFOs and All I can say is SWEEEEEEET gun!!!!!! Need some good options for holsters. Not really conceal carry type but good protection for gun and ease of use/SAFETY/tactical. I've looked at the Safariland 6004-5 but not sure about it. Just looking at all options. I'm going to get the XD SC .40 for Conceal carry but thats not till Father's day!!!! Allready broke down and made my first order from pistolgear.com so I'm allready a lost cause like most of ya'll. Later and Safe Shootin nraredneck |

Be careful ordering things from oldschool. He sends that stuff out so fast you could break your neck getting to the mailbox the next day. Slow down, take your time. It's there.

Well I currently have an XD 40 service and if my FFL ever gets off his ass I have an XD 40 tactical coming in the mail. I personally use the blackhawk serpa holster. I like this holster because of the retention without giving up speed. I have not had any wear problems with it yet but it has only been a few months. I am sure others will chime in on the holster. My vote is Blackhawk Serpa.
Also may want to look into sending your XD off to Canyon Creek for a trigger job. I have a 4# carry trigger and love it. The new XD that I am waiting on has a 3# trigger, Fusion slide, Bomar sights. can't wait to get it. Good luck and welcome to the club. Be careful with pistol gear. Good Service + Good Prices = Spending all your money
