VERY HI-caps for XD40
The Glock 35 has a 17 round mag available.
Is there something like this for the XD40. The round count mag I've seen (pistolgear is 12. I'm thinking IPSC. Thanks, mcgraw |

I've seen a 20 rounder, but it was already sold. Good luck finding one.

![]() The 20 rounders for the XD-40 are not legal for Limited if that is what you are thinking. Limited has a 140mm maximum magazine length. Unfortunately the XD-40 is built on the 9mm frame. This forced the makers to use a 9mm width magazine for the 40 and thus capacity is limited to about 15-16 round maximum while remaining under the 140mm maximum length specified by the Limited rules. I'm afraid the XD-40 is never going to be a Limited gun. It makes a pretty good Limited-10 gun. Now taking a XD-9 an possibly makeing an Open gun has a lot more potential. mcb |

Thanks for the info, mcb.
Yes, I was considering an XD40 5" for ipsc. I see how it's not gonna work.
Just caught the ipsc bug. Have shot it a bunch but not seriously. And wanted an excuse to get the XD. Will probably go with the Glock 35. I asked enough questions to find out that 9mm, which I now shoot out of my Glock 19, is a minor round and I get penalized more for non-alpha hits. So I'll go with 40. Thanks again, mcgraw |

You can still use IPSC as an excuse to get an XD. The XD-9 or XD-40 make a great production gun and the XD-40 or XD-45 make great Limited-10 guns. Loading 40 down to minor power factors for Production makes for a very soft shooting pistol. I have been shooting Limited-10 with my XD-40 Tactical since last spring and been having a blast with it.
I have added: Custom Magazine Well Extended Magazine Release. Extended Basepad on all my magazines. Don's Guide Rod with a 16# spring. It makes for a very competitive Limited-10 gun. I am a high C (57%) classified shooter and should be B before the end of this summer. If your set on shooting Limited then you might be our of luck but if your willing to shoot Limited-10 or Production the XD can hold its own in either of these divisions. mcb |

I just purchased 2 20 round mags for my XD40 at a show. Pro mag is the manufacturer. I am not very impressed with their performance. Every time I loaded the mags up at least one round did not chamber and a few times there was a delay in the chamber. I made sure it wasn't something with my gun. I loaded over ten of the 20 round mags and about 15 of the factory 12 round mags and this was only happening with the 20 round mags.
