XDSC-40 Mod Question

I'm new to the forum and also to the XD. Just picked my XD-40 Sub up at a gun show back in late march and have about 300 rounds through it.
I have several questions that should probably be easy for you guys to answer, if you would be so kind;

(1) Does anyone make a conversion barrel to 9mm for the xdsc .40? If not, is there any way that I could use a 4 in. conversion barrel on the SC? (that is probably a stupid question

(2) on a non-mod sidenote, does anyone else have a problem with scratching/wear on the rear of a barrel at the ejection port on a two-tone model?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Don't believe you will be able to swap a 4" barrel with the 3". There is a "flair" at the muzzle end that rides inside the muzzle end of your slide. After some use you will see a "ring" all around the barrel about 1/2" back. (Normal, by the way)

The stratches are normal wear if you are talking about the barrel hood, kinda squared off portion in the ejection port. Some folks, myself included, just polish that area up carefully and let it ride. Others think it just adds character to the pistol. If you do a search here, you should find a few pics of what the polishing looks like.

Good luck

Thanks TxStorm. I was afraid of that. I was aware the barrel was somewhat flanged to help keep alignment, but I was't sure if it would translate to a problem in the conversion barrel.
I was, indeed talking about the scratching of the barrel hood, but the wear just seemed awful fast, the gun having been only fired, both dry and hot, less than 500 times. Suppose I'm just overprotective of her; as to the 9mm conversion, I guess it'll just have to be an excuse to buy another XD, which will absolutley shatter my hearts to little pieces, of course. . .

Mine happened like 3rd time I dry fired and went down hill from there! Now I'm up to 3 and looking to get a Sub!

I'm sure you will recover from the broken heart.. To aide in the recovery, take a extra day off and visit the local range for a lil quality time.

I agree. The first round I touched off in my XD, I was hooked. It kicks like a mule and, since it has a 3 in. Barrel, it doesn't shoot half as well as my SA Champion 1911, but it is just a remarkable little weapon. I couldn't refrain from touchin' 'er off if I wanted. I don't think I could be persuaded to cultivate such a desire either.

I wasn't complaining of the wear, just checking that it wasn't a peculiarity of my weapon. I should have searched for the topic, but I was already asking another and, being a lazy egg-sucking sod who is also soon to be a lawyer, I just posted it right along.
