XD Pro Carry Package
I'm considering sending my XD subcompact 9mm, which is my main CCW choice, to Springfield Armory to get the Pro Carry Package work done. It's $215. See the details of the package this SA link:
http://www.springfield-armory.com/XD.pdf The XD sub is a fine choice as is, but gaining a lighter trigger and the addition of the fiber-optic sights has my interest. Does anyone here have any experience with this custom package from SA? Are the SA fiber-optics like Tru-Glo? There are no photos of them at the SA sight. I don't care for the Dawson fiber-optics, by the looks of them at Dawson's website. Is an extended mag release a worthy addition. Before I drop $215, plus shipping, I'd like some experienced input from those in the know. Thanks |

A good friend I shoot with twice weekly did this with his XD-45. We shot it last Friday - there is only word to describe what they did to the trigger - fantastic. We measured it with a Lyman digital trigger gauge and it came out at 4.2 lbs. He got their fiber sights too - they're good, but we had one of my glocks there with the Tru-Glow fibers on it (not the TFO's) and they're much brighter and easier for our old eyes to acquire.

judging from the pictures in this article, i'd say the SA sights are similar to the Dawsons. |

I think he's going to try Dawsons on his next gun - this one is going to his son in Arizona. Turnaround time on that work was less than 2 weeks, a lot faster than he thought it would take. A little more info on the sights, the dots are very small and not very bright.
