Rubber slip on grip when carrying?

Just curious, any of you regardless of what gun you own use a hogue handall or anything similar on your grip while carrying? Notice any problems with it? I'm wondering if it'd catch on clothes more when moving, or maybe drawing.

It will cling to your cover garment more than the plain, factory grip while concealing, but there will be no difference on the draw....provided you are flipping the cover garment back correctly.

I used to carry with a trimmed-down Hogue on my sub-compact, but I took it off because the edges were becomming loose and folding under my palm when I drew. I now use skateboard tape, and I like it.

The grip tape clings too, but not as bad as the Hougue IMO.

I may try my hand at stippling soon. The factory grips are a little too slick for my tastes. It gets hot down here in Texas, and I don't like the feel of slippery grips on a carry pistol.

Rubber slip on grip when carrying?

I have an XD40SC with a Hogue slip on grip. I've had trouble with the grip sliding up and coming in contact with the palm safety. It seams it won't stay in one spot. I'm worried that it will jam the palm safety and cause the gun to not fire. Just my two cents.

I carry one on my main carry XD and have not had a problem. I have shot competitions with it on as well. I can still draw and shoot an A zone hit from 10 yards in 2 seconds from concealment. So I would say that it doesn't slow me down at all or catch on anything. I am interested in how one will affect my XD45ACP though.

I use the Hogue Handall on my 45 ACP Service and it works great. Had to cut out a little notch in the back and it slides/twists ever so slightly after a day at the range. Nothing a little twist back won't cure. I like it a lot.

I just switched from a Pachmayr grip to a Hogue on my SC. I didn't like the way the Pachmayr felt. It was a bit irritating on my hands.

The Hogue is smoother and doesn't feel like an eraser on the skin. It also gives a little bit of girth to the sides of the handle which feels more comfortable to me.

A good trick to keep the grips in place is to spray the inside with some hairspray. When wet, the hairspray will help you slide it in place. When dry, it acts like glue (non-permanent).

I put some 'skateboard' friction tape, on my grips. Then put the Hogue grip over that, Hogue doesn't slip at all and it gave the grip alittle bigger size for my XXL hand.

I tried thwe handalls on a couple of my other guns a few years back. As they stretch they start to walk. Had the one on my PT111 slide up over the mag release once. Now they are residing on my Ingersoll impact guns at work.
