Not an expert here, but the M6 get about 60 minutes run time on white light where the TLR-2 gives better than double that. Less threat of LED breakage as well. I have the M6X and sure would like to see them come out with a LED bulb for it.

I have the TLR-1, which is going to have the exact same light just without the laser. It's nice and bright and the light pattern on it is nice. You get about 2.5 hrs runtime with the light alone. Granted it's going to be shortened a little bit on a TLR-2 if you use the light and laser together. But, I honestly don't think you could go wrong with the TLR-2. The lights seem heavily built to me. Do a search on here for TLR-2, then TLR-1. I have a thread that I have pictures of my light shining at night to show the beam pattern, and have pictures of it on my gun. Others have pictures of their lights on their gun as well. Will maybe help give you an idea of whether you like it or not.

They are identical systems, except for the obvious led / halogen comparison. Also the TLR-1 is tightened to the gun like a screw (possible loosening) wile the M6 is attached by a tight spring mechanism.
The only real problem with the TLR-1 is it looks grey not black like the XD. Although probably was a bad picture on the web. |

If I were limited to those choices - I'd get the TLR-2. Something to consider is do you want your light & laser to have the same power supply? If it fails you could be in deep crap quickly. The only thing stopping me from going the XD route is the availabilty of a good (insert Crimson Trace) laser solution for it.

The TLR's aren't grey really. They aren't the EXACT black of the XD, but they are black. I think what makes them look different is in certain light you can tell it's a metal light, as I think it shows though somewhat. Actually I'm somewhat curious whether the metal isn't treated somehow to give it that color. Whatever it is, it's not grey but not the blackest black either.
