Just wanted to let you guys know, if you didn't already, that the guys at LaserMax just told me via email that they were going to be offering a laser site for the subcompact XDs (9 and 40) in mid to late May.

last time i asked them, which was over a month ago, they said they had "reliability" issues and didnt think they would release a lasermax sight for the SCs.

If they are indeed coming out with one i would be very interested in getting one!

Ditto! I really like the one in my Glock, If I had one for my XD-40SC I'd be really happy! Gonna need one for the .45acp too.

They told me a couple of months ago nothing was in work.

For clarity, I didn't realize they made anything but the slide rod replacement style.

Here was my original request for info:

So now I'm confused. Do they offer some other type of "sight" besides the slide rod replacement style?

They do make a product for shotguns, but their bread & butter is laser guide rods.

I, like others, have heard that LM has had reliability issues with the prototypes for the XD-SC. That is why I asked. I thought that they may be introducing a new product that attaches to the acc'y rail.

I'm anxious to see if this comes to fruition.

I sent them an email a few months back about this. the response i got was they had no intentions of having anything available this year, and that they couldnt say anything past that. They also told me that they were having reliability issues with evaluation models.

But oh, how I hope they come out with them (and for the .45acp too)

Well, I did a specific follow-up on the 45ACP as well, and he said they were look at that one, but nothing would be coming anytime soon.
