Received my gunbelt today

Well the good news I received my gunbelt today from Gary Brommeland. I ordered it on January 3rd 2006 was told 4 to 6 weeks. on January 30th 2006 my credit card charged in full. Well it arived today April 7th 2006. about 97 days after ordered and around 60 days of my money being on loan. The good news is the quality of Gary Brommelands belts are the best and at $100 they should be. Gary Web site is http://www.brommelandgunleather.com/
If your looking for a quality gunbelt and can wait around three Months I know you will agree the quality of Garys belts are second to none just don't think your going to get it in 4 to 6 weeks.

My second belt from Gary

Well it's the second belt I have bought from Gary and the first also was just about the same time frame of a deal also the early credit card charge and all. I really like his quality work thats why I ordered another belt from him so I would not have to keep snaking belts between pants. I asked him if it was a good time to order the belt as Gary also crafts holsters and Mag holders and they are in high demand and he gave me the 4 to 6 weeks thing. Gary did move from Florida last year to Tn. but he is all set in now. It's a one man leather shop with Garys wife helping with the shipping. But I have read posts of many waiting a year for a holster.

I think it's about time 'ol Gary there hires some of those folks across the border to help him.

Glad you like the product. I'm looking for a good belt but can't wait that long.

Well it's just what he does not use that adds the real quality. Gary has to pitch a lot of the cowhides he receives because they are not good. Years ago cattle were raised for around 24 Months and they were out on the open range feeding on grass. The cattle and their hides got mature and tough. Today we see cattle raised inside feed lots and fed high pro-grains. Good for weight but not good for a good quality belt or holster hide.
Now it's where Gary cuts his belt hides from. Close to the spine area of the hides. You just don't get many belts from a hide so the rest is wasted. Anyway each belt is made by Gary himself from two plys of leather and the leather is cut in a curve to lay just right on the hips while breaking in. If you compair his belts to other belt makers you will quickly see how the little items really make his belts stand alone for quality. Like the belt loop that holds the belt end. It fits tight has been lasted from the same quality leather as the belt not a soft one ply loop. Also where the buckle attaches to the belt it is also lasted to lay flat not a big bulge of leather bent over the buckle. Then the belt is colored and cured and the edges of belt are lapped smooth not left rough like many other makers leave the edges. When you see the finished product you quickly understand just how much better Garys belts really are. Yes they do cost $100+shipping and worth every penny.

Rafters"S" makes a very nice belt I have one of their cowhide $55 gunbelts because they make a brown belt where Brommeland does not. Still at $55 Rafters "S" is a good choice for the money.
